With all due respect, if it is your daughter taking the portraits then it should probably be your daughter who researches and decides what camera is right for her.

She most likely asked her dad, and her dad is now asking us.

Any of the Nikon full frame cameras, with the exception of the D6XX would be more than adequate. Buy whatever you can afford. Even a D700 would be great. You can pay anywhere from $350 to $450 for a body in great shape from a retailer, and less through a private sale.

Excuse me, IMHO, the Nikon D610 is an outstanding FF Nikon DSLR. IMHO.

I started with the Nikon D750 using an 85mm Tamron. Nice setup. I think however the link Chase provided might definitely be worthy of looking at on that price point.

Can get the following for $1500. Seems decent deal. Assuming excellent condition, is it decent deal?
D750 w 19k clicks
AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60mm 2.8 G ED
Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR
Nifty Fifty 50mm 1.8D

Is macro important? Seems that the 60mm and 50 mm are redundant unless macro is important.
I have a 55 mm macro but only use it for that purpose. It was a gift; otherwise I'd have made do with my 105 macro.
