I own several Sony cameras and wonder why some Hoggers hate the brand? Y’all know who I’m talking about. I remember one poster said “I’d Never buy a camera from a company who used to make toasters!” It’s just something I don’t understand!
markwilliam1,
See if my analogy works. SOME may "hate" Sony [photographic equipment]
because they like to feel that they are superior owing to the principal brand of photo equipment they own. They can deny it all they want, asserting that Canon, Nikon, or some other brand is simply "better/superior to Sony and that's that"; but if they express additional
non-constructive* sentiments about Sony products, then ask them, if it's worth bothering to (because, in my opinion, most will not cede ANY ground on an internet forum such as this, e.g.
A states, '2 plus 3 = 8', but when
B confronts
A by correcting the statement to read, '2 plus 3 = 5',
A will not directly express that
B is correct.

not serving to promote improvement or advancement (source:

Then there's a category that I would fall into, though not about Sony products, which I am "wedded" by virtue of my having bought Minolta photo equipment in the 1990s. I confess that I still am, after all these years, a "Mitsubishi Hater". I was the proud owner of a 60" rear-projection TV in 1997 (no HD back then.) Then one of the three color "guns" blew out. So I called the local Authorized Mitsubishi repair service, and apparently, they blew out a second tube. But for whatever reason, they got a fax confirmation from Mitsubishi HQ that the tubes would be replaced at no charge to them or me. And so my TV got fixed and I didn't have to pay a cent. Wasn't that great? The TV lasted long enough for me to donate it in 2006 to a local home for the homeless. But less than a month after it was repaired, the repair service informed me that Mitsubishi was reneging on paying for the "guns" and repairs; still no charge to me, but Mitsubishi screwed them. I realize that it's possible that the repair service didn't disclose something they did wrong to either Mitsubishi or them, but at the time, I ascertained that this was unlikely to be the case (for what it's worth.) And so, I'm a MITSUBISHI HATER and won't got near their products.
I dunno. If Mitsubishi made consumer cameras, would I go out of my way to disparage them in a forum? I guess it depends. I know that under certain circumstances with a group of friends, I might "go on a short tear."
