Never mind! Wasn't good enough to post.
On the back of your P&S, do you see a little flower icon? That is the macro button that should allow your P&S to focus much closer. Keep subject dead center for proper focus.
I use it often. It failed today. Would not focus any closer than 10". It is several years old, and has taken thousands of shots. Will be looking for a replacement. My phone, however, seemed to do great! But when I uploaded the image, it was so grainy, I didn't feel it worth posting. Could delete the shot, but couldn't seem to delete the post entirely. So, just edited it.
Thanks for commenting, though - you are always so helpful!

Just remember: the sensor in your phone is about the size of your pinky fingernail. It does not tolerate enlargement gracefully. A "cropped sensor" in a DSLR is about the size of a man's thumbnail. A P&S sensor is in between sizes.
Yes, I was expecting way too much from a camera phone. I much prefer my D7000! Here is the image, from my Droid Max Razr.

And,
there is the crown of gold, how Monarch butterflies earned their name.

Thanks, Douglass. It is, indeed, one of the more elegant of chrysalis.
Thanks, Sarge. Will try not to be timid about posting in the future.
Quite a remarkable photo when considering it was done with a phone camera!!
Thank you for putting it back up!

Thanks for the kind remarks.
Here's one I was luck enough to capture in San Diego right outside the arboretum.
