Nothing wrong with that.

Ok, I was not in the least bit talking about warranties and how companies honor their warranties. I wasn't talking about Nikon or any other camera manufacturer. I was questioning how or where one purchases motivation, something I've never ever seen for sale in any store. Why you have dragged Nikons warranty policy into the conversation is beyond me. Maybe you simply chose me to respond to regardless of what the conversation was about. If you are a Pentax used, what do you even care about Nikons warranty policy?! I actually own Nikon gear and I'm not concerned about their warranty policy. All my Nikon cameras and lenses are past their warranty periods. I've never had to send any of my Nikon or Canon or Sony gear in for warranty repairs.

I’d just ignore him. His opinions are about the same quality as his photography, both of which he shares too much.

I've not utilized a camera warranty for over six cameras over the years. Nice to know one exists though.

Because over and over again we hear about Nikon’ warranty policy, and even about how they sell spare parts only to certain select ‘authorized’ repair shops, so even I figure that must be on the minds of Nikon owners a lot.

Hmmm. Are the chances that high where they need to worry?

I'm not worried. I don't even think about it. Pretty much a non-issue.

Nikon warranty policy and Nikon parts availability are two entirely different subjects. Nikon will pretty much sell parts to anyone who orders and pays for them. I've never ever had a single problem purchasing Nikon parts and I'm certainly not an authorized or otherwise repair shop.

Same here. Over the years I've managed to collect over 15 DSLR'S and a few MILC'S, several of which were purchased new. Along with the camera bodies I've purchased numerous lenses manufactured by Canon, Nikon, Sigma and Tamron. I've never had any problems with my camera bodies that required sending one to a repair facility. I've had several lenses repaired and professionally cleaned by both a factory facility and non-factory facility. I've even done a few repairs myself with parts purchased from the manufacturer. While it was and is indeed comforting to know that a warranty was/is available if necessary, it's also nice to know that quality products rarely require a trip to the repair shop.

Thank you for the suggestion, it sounds like sound advice and a good idea.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend when I can get out and put my new Z7 through it's paces. I'm still working on getting it set up with the assistance of David Busch and Darrell Young. I wasn't surprised that it was smaller than my D500 or D7200, but thought it would be bigger than the G9.

An arsenal implies offensive/defensive weapons, warfare, battles, mass destruction, etc.

How about just calling it a "kit" or "tool kit" - tools used for creative endeavors. . .

My pet peeve

Enjoy the newest addition to your "kit"
