I "nest" all of my good cardboard boxes and almost always have use for them shipping items. On a different topic I KEEP ALL RETAIL BOXES FOR MY CAMERAS ETC. Better resale value if you have the original retail box.
I am also a box saver. And I often find uses for them.

One thing no one ever talks about being an adult is how much time you debate yourself on keeping a cardboard box because it's, like, a really good box.
Totally guilty! I have a number of excellent old card board boxes, I have new ones as well. I delight in Banker's Boxes. I have a real photography studio located in an old building (1910), and I keep loads of items in the boxes with labels on them.

It all begins when you are a child and something gets delivered to the home and you are left with that larger most excellent box (Fort/Hideaway/Cool hangout) thingie and then at some later segment of your existence , you acquire a CAT and it escalates from there.........oh dear !
Now everyone knows your tendencies.
The question repeats itself and we find ourselves creating a place for that special....unique Box that will never ever be seen again until it is.......but for the meantime, the Cat will suffice as your excuse.
That's my excuse ....anyway. The End.

I have lots and lots of empty boxes. Hate to get rid of them in case I get something that needs to be boxed.
Little boxes --small item Amazon stuff or KEH thingies-- meh! to the recycling center they go. BIG boxes, boxes that are suitable for shipping BIG things I tell myself I'll want to ship at some point, those get broken down and stored in my shed.
But my shed is not all that big, and a lot of my tools and other (pack-rattish) essentials are kept there too, so............ come spring, some hard decisions are going to be made.
As we know, there are only a few "absolutes". I think needing a cardboard box the day after breaking them down and sending them to the recycler qualifies as another absolute. I keep a few perfect boxes. Never need them. Get them ready to go and find a need after they have left the property. It's just the way it is.
I can relate. I'm 65 and I've always had an affinity for boxes, even as a child. My mom noticed it before I did. I wouldn't call myself a hoarder, but I've got everything from an antique wooden dynamite box (empty of course) to ammo boxes to cardboard boxes and boxes I have no idea what they're for. I can explain it though -- I'm weird.

Same here. Helps value. My wife throws away every box the day after the purchase. Can’t even return it if not wanted or defective. To each his/her own.
Working at my job where we receive equipment on a daily basis certain times of the year broke me from keeping ALL boxes. I usually keep personal boxes of the smaller size, but everything else gets broken down and trashed.

My wife does the same thing.
Why?

Because, inevitably, my hubby asks for a box.
