I'm with you, Chuck. I am almost 92, busy every day, and know I'll not have time to get it all done.

Keep going. Retirement doesn’t mean it’s over It just another chapter in our lives

From this I've drawn a not unreasonable conclusion: when one's mind no longer has a purpose, a specific goal, and a commitment to achieve it, one's body is no longer needed, and rapidly deteriorates.

I totally agree. One of the reason many of us at least me are on this blog is because we try to use some of our time to create something beautiful or unusual. Keeping the mind sharpe

All very good, and mostly true....

My last "very old" patient of 104 used to say: "Everyone makes a big deal of me being 104, but frankly, I don't recommend it".

Please don't sit down! If you do you will listen to your arteries harden!

Sorry to hear that. I hope you were able to find something to do to fill the void.

Thanks. It was not a very serious injury. It just kept me out of the OR, so I had to retire.

I agree with you all; retirement agrees with me. 5 years into it. I do more satisfying and fulfilling things now than I ever thought I would. I should have listened to my wife when she wanted me to retire years before I did. Of course, now I run all the errands, cook, pay bills, make the phone calls, etc. Maybe she got more out of the deal than I. Still, retirement is great.

Some people hate to retire. They feel it is all over and no longer have an identity . Nothing for them to look forward to. I am certainly not one in that category.

OK, now those are funny! Too close to home, perhaps, but funny nonetheless!

Glad you saw the humor in them. Nothing wrong with laughing at ourselves once in awhile as well as laughing at others. I think more humor in the world would solve a lot of problems.

I'm retired too, and that describes my feelings, too.
