I always love cactus shoots. They are such unique plants. Enjoy that great Canon camera. Would like one of those myself.

Love the photos of the cacti. You have a good eye for your subject. The camera is secondary, but it's a great camera in your hands. Enjoy.

As some of you know, I purchased a 1DXii from a UHH member. So I've finally tested it out. Since I love cactus, I decided my first shots should be at one of my favorite places (Boyce Thompson Arboretum) and mostly of cactus. So here are my first shots.

The camera was set on BBF which I've never used. I found I loved it in vertical format, and it's iffy in horizontal. But I'll continue to use it for awhile. I have a lot to learn and need to read the manual a few times.

THANKS, DIANE!

As always, comments are welcome. All are hand-held, AV priority.

Diane,

The fact that portrait and landscape images are different indicates some kind of mechanical or optical problem with the camera. If it continues you might consider having it serviced. >Alan

I'm sorry, but I don't understand your comment.

I'm working my way through the manual. Right now it works for me (as long as I remember I have to push another button!).

That's high praise. I love cactus. I guess it shows.

I didn't see any difference between the horizontal and vertical images when I had the camera. I promise that I would not EVER have intentionally sold a defective camera!!

OK. So I guess I have to ask: How are they different?
