I received a copy of NX2 as a gift and learned Nikon is a camera company not a software company. BTW That software was outsourced.

Nikon's software is the biggest reason I switched to Lightroom. Best of luck.

Just curious how much per month per month do you pay?

Outsourced, if you were to go down to your local car dealer, say Ford, and buy a new car, would all the parts in that car be made in a Ford factory? OR would most of them be outsourced?

And if you were to buy software to edit photos would you go to Ford or Nikon?

I doesn't matter what I pay. Most important is that Lr works!

Uh, I think I misrepresented myself. I was neither criticizing nor apologizing for Nikon. I simply remembered that the licensing agreement indicated that Nik owned part of the software. I can imagine that Nikon felt it was not worthwhile to invest in the capability to specify, design, implement and verify quality software for a consumer market. But rather specify and then outsource a product that is not central to their main line business. In this case that approach appeared to fail and left them with a product they could not support. Unfortunately, a common result of that approach.

To answer your question I say neither Ford or Nikon. I would not be looking for a car or a camera. I would go to someone with the capability to develop and maintain quality post processing software.

For what it is worth, I have cast my lot with Adobe. They have done that for software I have used for around ten years, LR initially and then PS which became affordable with the subscription license. Just my opinion.
