I lived in PA, took a job in Florida.
Ski jackets at 60° after a bunch of years.
Spent 27 years in Florida, got used to it.
Back in PA and finally after many years, re-acclimated to PA.

You're probably right.
I have friends and relatives in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas, they wouldn't think of leaving.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, after I got out of the Navy in 1969 I lived in Cleveland for 5 years, then San Juan, P.R. for 4 years, back to Pittsburgh for about 5 years, then to Philadelphia for about 30 years.

For the winter I put on my winter shorts.
Same as my summer shorts.
I wear shorts and shovel snow in 5 degree weather.
Even if the wind chill is below zero.
What's the big deal?
One of my neighbors who is older than I (late 70's) also wears shorts all winter long.
Keeps the boys cooled off.
