If you're on Windows, go to settings, then system, at the top, type add or remove programs. If you scroll down to find Cortana, you'll see the option to uninstall. Check to see if Picassa is still there. Otherwise, I guess you'd have to go to their website to reinstall it.
The OP uses a Mac. If attempting to re-install from an online source, be careful: the sites are third-party and their install may include stuff you don't want.

No apple store in Newburgh will need to go to Nyack NY, but I use Computertuners and they can fix it.
Sounds good!

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I have refused to download Apple's Mojave or Catalina for fear of the outcomes. I have my Picasa safely loaded on a Microsoft-based laptop.Good Luck.

Here are the instructions to downgrade from Catalina to Mojave; if you have a recent back-up, it's not that hard. Here's the link: https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/how-to-downgrade-from-catalina-to-mojave/

Google retired Picasa nearly four years ago. I suspect that Picasa is a 32-bit software app, not 64-bit, so it would never work on the Catalina macOS. (A 64-bit app has instructions that are twice as long as a 32-bit app; The Mojave OS supports both 32-bit and 64-bit, but runs slower as a result.) It would therefore be useless to download Picasa and try to install it again on Catalina.

While you could revert back to the Mohave macOS, as discussed above, that is a lot of work and brings its own set of problems. For example, security in the older OS is not as good, and you would be locked out of improvements in many of the bundled apps such as iTunes and making backups of other Apple devices.

Apple has been issuing warnings about out-of-date 32-bit software for several years. At some point, it will be necessary to bite the bullet and move to a compatible photo editing app. This kind of thing happens with Windows as well; software moves on and eventually so do we.

I still use Picasa and it works just fine. Unsupported? So what?

Glad it's working for you. But this thread is about a guy with a problem with Picasa - and can't get it to work on his computer with an updated operating system. It clearly isn't working for him. That is the difference between getting a supported application and one that isn't.

You sound like the guys on the Titanic who were counting their blessings that they were not on the end of the boat that was sinking . . .
