Have you tried uninstalling Catilina? If Picasa doesn't then work, uninstall that and reinstall.
ill try but it is a little over my head

I feel your pain. I would be lost without Picasa. And it's a LOT over my head.

I think you have an Apple Store in Newberg. You may want to consider taking your computer to them and let them help you solve the issue. Don't go today - it's a holiday and likely to be crowded. You might also call or chat with Apple.

If you have a recent Time Machine backup restore it. If it's not recent, copy recent files to a flash drive/external hard drive, then restore. If you don't have a backup, make one, then restore your machine using the original operating system (CD/DVD or flash drive) then restore your files from the backup.

The elephant in the room is the rationale of making heroic efforts to support a long discontinued (going on 4 years now) and no longer supported application. Wouldn't it be a better strategy to get something that works on the new OS without issues? There are much better applications than Picasa.
Restore from your backup. You do backups, don't you?
You are right but I have Picasa down pat. Any suggestions

I still use Picasa and it works just fine. Unsupported? So what?
I love Lightroom. I use Classic on the Mac and have it sync with CC everywhere else. I import pics via wifi to my iPhone, and sync automatically to LR. I can do quick edits there, or wait until LR CC syncs to my Mac and use Classic. Gives me a lot of flexibility, depending on how quickly I want to share the pics, and how precisely I want to edit them.

If you're on Windows, go to settings, then system, at the top, type add or remove programs. If you scroll down to find Cortana, you'll see the option to uninstall. Check to see if Picassa is still there. Otherwise, I guess you'd have to go to their website to reinstall it.
