If it sounds too good to be true.................

Hi everyone!
Finally decided that I should soon say goodbye to my cheap, $15 aluminium and plastic tripod and upgrade to something that doesn’t give me premature back pain or anxiety of breaking my gear whenever I use it.
Neewer is selling a carbon fibre tripod, that weights 1.54kg, extends to 166cm tall, and can hold 12kg of gear ontop. Oh, it also includes a ball head AND a fluid video head, all for about $78 USD. You can also apparently detach one of the legs to use as a monopod. If 78$ gives me even 80% of the build quality of more expensive, name brand tripods, I’m not sure I can justify spending any more money.
Anyone had any experience with this tripod? Other recommendations would also be great, but I’m still on a rather tight budget. Thanks guys

I use the Vanguard ALTA Pro 263 aluminum tripod. Comes with or without a ball head.
Hi Betaa, I use a ZOMEI Carbon Fiber (Q666C) Heavy Duty, Lightweight Travel Tripod. It's about $130.00 but it has never let me down. I have used it indoors, outdoors (in all weather), and have traveled with it all over the world., by air by sea, by road, and lots of trekking. I know that this may be above your quoted budget, but take a look at it at:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MDU9IJL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1I strongly suggest that you consider all the options including focus stacking.
(1 more thought) I think as technology evolves, prices come down. Example, my first 50” plasma flatscreen was like $2500. Now you can’t give away plasmas and you can buy a new cheap flatscreen for couple hundred. I just recently bought top of line 4K 65” tv for 1/2 what I paid for my plasma. Yes the plasma was more expensive, but the 4k OLED 65” is tons better for 1/2 the price.....
Look for a used tripod, a few years back I bought a used GITZO for $75.00 it's made of carbon Fiber works great. I also bought an aluminum Gitzo at an estate sell for $5.00 it needed a new bolt for the mount. still have both and their well made.

I agree with jackpinoh. In my experience there is no such thing as a cheap, sturdy, lightweight tripod.
That depends on your definition of cheap... apart from that a $22 tripod
that comes with a pistol grip head is better than no tripod at all.
If you are shooting inside with a DSLR and a 50mm lens that aformentioned
$22 tripod can (and has done the job)do... perfectly!
Betta, I reckon the tripod you're looking at is good value and
will
probably serve you well.
Forget what they naysayers and tommy knockers reckon about it being unstable
in the wind... just hang a weighted bag from the hook for extra stability; that's what
it's there for.
If you ever grow out of the Neewar you propose, it will come in handy for mounting other things
like lights. et al.

Me too... and I love it. Thing is, it's twice the cost (without a head)
than what the carbon neewar that the OPs looking at is.

Choose that road you may/will say, in a near future, I should have gone for a better, more expensive, version, my old add a saying, buy the best tool you can afford, you won’t be sorry down the line
