Thank you for sharing that link. Those are beautiful images! After looking at them it makes me want to gather up every piece of photo gear I own and throw it all away for I know I will never be able to produce images like that! She is truly a gifted photographer.

I have a Better idea. Use her photographs to inspire you to create better photographs. Learn from her. Apply it to your photography. Keep your photo gear!

Wow.

Interestingly i see two things that jump out at me... 1. She ignores the “don’t center your subject” rule which works exceptionally well for her, and 2. she seems to shoot with a wide open lens (which I have come to learn, Joel Sartore of National Geographic, highly recommends). Elena is a tremendously talented photographer... I hope some of it rubs off on me from admiring her work ;)

I am glad you enjoyed this link. When you were as good as her you can break the rules and get away with it. I hope her work rubs off on me to for admiring how amazing her photographs are.

I guess that if I bought a camera/lens just like hers and knew what her SS/F-stop/ISO etc. I could take pics that good?
OK, I can dream can't I?
I just know that my NiSonCan has pics just as good, preloaded in it, on that sensor thingy! (Not even a chance)
Her knowledge, skills, and abilities shine through so brightly.

We discuss here often that it is the photographer, not the gear. The gear is important but use the same camera and lens she uses and see if you can come up with images like hers.
This is all about talent and being able to see the light besides a good understanding of composition.

Two things I noticed, the use of the light and the large lens openings. Compositions are impeccable. She masters ambient light to perfection.
A great artist.

I like the way you analyze her work in detail. She truly is a great artist and I think we can all learn from her just by looking at her work. Inspiring. And if you look at her videos you can see the perfectionist in her work.
