I need some clarity! 1st my equipment: Nikon D3300 with a 70-300 lens. There is NO switch on the lens for AF to MF. However it is printed on the lens AF - P. The lens does have a manual ring for focus. OK, If I have the camera in AF will not the lens MF override the camera AF? Should I just have both camera and lens in MF at the same time? If so why do I have a lens that says AF -P if it's constantly in MF with the adjustable ring? Should I ditch this lens and get one with a switch option? What does the "P" stand for - Priority I assume? I guess I asked a lot of questions but I do THANK you for any help you send my way!

Nikon made two DX version AF-P 70-300mm lenses. One with and without VR. The more expensive FX version 70-300mm VR, does have a switch on the lens.
