I don't know how I got here but you're stuck with me.

I learned everything camera from a newspaper guy in the 70s with a Graflex and Yashika twin. You think the flash wasn't the key? My brother came home from Nam with a 35mm. A magical camera until I bought my first Nikkromat ft2 followed by a Nikon F (and not the power winder that wouldn't "make every shot count"), both of which are still my go-to film cameras. There was magic in the darkroom, the smells and, well, the magic.

I became a Photoshop master. It came easy because I'd learned the hard way in a wet darkroom. My first day on the computer was an "are you kidding me" moment. Click, click, click.

I was somewhat forced to digital. Turnaround, profit margin, instant customer gratification.

I bought a near-perfect Argus C3. In my arsenal is a Polaroid so I understand the focusing.

What I am seeking is insight on how to determine if the Argus is something I want to keep or put on the shelf. My city still has opportunities for film processing. Wow.

My first 35mm was a C-3, handed down from Dad, you know if you can find them there were two extra lenses for a C-3, a WA and a 135, BTW i'm pretty sure mine is still around the house somewhere.

Welcome aboard and you'll be he best judge of that as far as keeping your film cameras active or planting them on the book shelf or mantle piece. I have 3 old filmies and love them and still shoot them on special occasions with B&W but I no longer have a Dk Rm so I have to have them done by others.
Good Luck to you.

Welcome to the UHH Forum!

I'm currently finishing up a roll in an Argus Markfinder that I got on an auction site for little money. It is in quite good physical shape, but it's pretty stiff in the winding. After this roll it's going off for a CLA. I like the looks and inquiries I get when I'm out shooting with it.
