If you go with the Pro 100 (which is a great choice as a photo printer, but not an all in one), wait or shop for a sale. The list is $349, but there’s almost always a $200 - $250 off sale, usually with a free 50 sheet pack of Canon 13x19 paper - they make their money on the ink.

The current deal at B&H is that you pay $349. After you send in the form and code from the box you get a $200 rebate card. Mine was an American Express cash card. The value of the included, full standard ink cartridges is $125. Does that mean the net cost of the printer itself is $24?

I have a Canon Pixma TS9020. It's a printer and a scanner and will print on CD/DVD's. I've used similar printers from the competitors but this one does the best color prints by far. 4x6 through 8x10 and letter size. The negative is the ink cost, but it's an industry norm. My experience with 3rd party inks is not good. So I do the occasional print at home, large jobs at COSTCO or Wal-Mart and hangable prints on line. Good luck with your search.

When you buy a printer you buy into the ink system and cost. I use an Epson ET-4750 and it just sips ink prints pictures up to 8.5 X 14 and with the proper ICC profiles does a real nice job and you won’t hate life buying expensive ink cartridges all the time use regular Epson ink and print lots of beautiful pictures.
