Many as I understand knew Earl intimately, as a friend a multi talented and generous man who didn't hesitate to share from his life with others.I will miss his posts of course, but more so the presence of a great friend to all of us. So long Earl.
Am so very sad to get this news, Donna. When I first joined UHH, Earl was one of the very first people to welcome me so very warmly. He will be truly missed as will be his photographs.
Sorry for your loss. I enjoyed his work over the years.
Although this is most unwelcome news, I do so appreciate you, Donna, in relaying it. I would wish there would be some way that our thoughts and prayers could be communicated to his friends and family so that they know how much we will all miss him.
Thank you Donna. My condolences to his family and friends. Earl will be missed.

It's with a very heavy heart that I'm letting you all know that Earl passed away today at about 2:30AM. He and I became friends shortly after he joined UHH in December of 2012, and I can't remember when we became managers together on closeup. He's been a good friend to my husband and to me, and he will be missed terribly. Thanks to everyone for your loyalty to closeup during his absence, and I hope you'll continue to post here. It will be lonely without our good buddy...
Donna, thank you for the update. He has also been a great friend since I joined UHH. I can not remember who was first, yourself or Earl. You can count on me to still post here when ever I can.

While many of us knew Earl, not many actually knew what he looked like...including me and I was in almost daily contact. I'd seen a few snippets of him in his videos and that was about all. Cathy Ann, a UHH member visted Australia last year and also came down to Adelaide where Lorraine and I met her and showed her around. We also remember a lovely meal we took her out to at one of our favourite hotels. Cathryn took this photo of Earl when she was in Maclean visiting Earl and over all the years, this is the only pic of Earl I've ever seen.
I contacted Cathryn and she graciously allowed me to post it...I thought, while so many knew Earl, they might like to put a face to the name...
Here he is in action...in front of his van that he turbocharged, I called him a "two bob lair"...
Ron.

Appreciate you posting this pic.
Thank you for posting his photo, Ron. The only picture of himself he ever shared with me was a very young musician touring with a band in the U.S. when he was maybe 18-20 years old. I appreciate having a photo to put with my memory of him. thanks to CathyAnn as well.
