Printing B&W on an Epson R2000 printer

I went on a printer workshop at a paper supplier. They were using an Epson printer and showed how to set it up, profiling etc with Photoshop controlling the printer. When it came to black and white printing however the printer was set to controlling the printing in Photoshop.

I don't have Photoshop or equivalent. I have a very simple ancient version of Corel Paintshop Pro I can make excellent B&W prints with a little tweaking in h and printer setup. If you want to know my "tricks" send me a private message. Good luck!
