Thank you srt. I think misty shots lend themselves to creating that sort of atmosphere.

Glad you enjoyed, Karin. I'm glad I didn't go for an overall softness for this image.
To anybody that's interested, I could have cropped in to make the trees natural framing elements at the edge of the frame, but instead I left the framing wide and used a slight vignette to make the edges of the frame less distracting. The mist already gives a closed-in feeling to it and if the natural framing had been allowed to predominate at the edges I think the shot would have ended up too claustrophobic. Sometimes taking a step away from the usual convention produces better results.

Thank you Coz from the Territories. You'll probably have more than a few memories similar to this.
(PS - I like your new signature. It reminds me of the song - "Whispering Grass, don't tell the trees, 'Cause the trees don't need to know").

This is well thought out and very well executed. I looked immediately at the foreground and was led right into the photo with that beautiful cascade. Then I noticed how the atmosphere pervades the entire composition and sets the mood. Later I wondered if it might have been a slight oversight to cut off the tops of the trees. It was not. By cutting them where you did you maintain a balance in the composition. The horizon is higher than half way up the frame indicating that the stream and the framing trees are your main areas of interest; but the horizon is not so high in the frame to make the sky the focal point.
So we have interest in the sky and that is included. We also see the mist throughout the composition. Seen together it all works. Technically it is sharp throughout the image and that is important. There are no mistakes here. This is a really fine photograph. Well done.

Great shot.
One small 'plaint. Mind you, it may just be me. At a glance, the shot seems to be sinking just a wee bit to the left. The larger the size, the more noticeable.
Overall,
Beautiful understated image RG - well done!
