Two recent MW photos
Fisher towers was taken with no additional lighting. It is an in camera multiple exposure of 7 photos at ISO 12500 and is way too noisy for any printing. But at small and low resolution it represents what we saw that evening. I know - I know - I mis labeled it when I stored it.

The Ancient Bristlecone Forest tree was shot this summer. It is showing here way darker than the copy on my computer

I was not very detailed. The foreground was in camera multi exposure, one for the MW, then combined.

What you accomplished is something I have always wanted to do & have not been -- as I was in my review of your photo -- in the right place @ the right time!! Have saved-up any number of "cheat sheets" on how others have done it & assume I probably have enough gear to try --- Will be in New Mexico in a month/two hoping that may be the right place & time to give it a go ??
Again
Thanks for sharing
Great looking Photos!!

Ken- several of us have discovered that in camera stacking of multiple exposure images at lower ISO and additive setting can bring low light photos to light with reduced noise. The limitation with my Canon is that all the photos need to be taken at the same ISO. There are other addons that permit several photos to be taken at higher ISO and then a final one at ISO 100 that will eliminate any noise created in the first stack of photos. All done within the camera on one final photo product.

Where in NM? I spent a week there last summer shooting in the Bisti badlands. We needed a Navajo guide for where we went.
