Here's what happened when I played with it :) Any colors could be used instead of throwing this poor little guy out of his photo.
Thanks Gena, I am quite fond of the more colorful version. What treatment did you use for the splash of color on the wings? Jan
good fix, but I still like the original photo... with your fixed butterfly!

I really need help with this photo. I know parts of it are blurry but the pic was taken in the spot metering mode and I focused on the butterfly's eye. Not sure where to go from here, including the crop. Should I just trash the photo or is it even salvageable? Thanks so much! Jan
i think the main focus is the butterfly. it has the contrast in color which makes your eyes draw to it. i think you should keep it

WOW Gena, thanks for your generous comment! Jan
I love the pic of the purple flower with the black butterfly. Mostly because purple is my color. But there is such a beautiful contrast in the color on that photo. I have to say, I like the first picture better than the cropped ones also, it gives it depth and character even though it's not the most beautiful butterfuly, it's still a beautiful picture.
you are quite humorous...I like that...and your outfit is kind of creepy haha...thanks for sharing

yes the butterflies are that organized. they trade notes with the humminbirds that hide from me.
Could it be that they are not hiding at all but a matter of your eyesight going bad
