I would like to add my thanks for the firmware update instructions. Expect to receive my lens tomorrow and will give it a go.

"...Before installing the new firmware, be sure the camera's battery has sufficient charge to allow the camera to run for at least 10..." like the gentleman said or you may be sending your camera back to Nikon for a reset of it's internal OS...

Might be wise to simply walk out of the room and chill while the camera does it's thing... lol

Enjoy your new super wide... wishing you all the best on your epic journey!

Received this lens from Adorama today. As usual it is absolutely pristine (unable to tell from new). Came with front and rear caps, carry bag, and flare guard.
I put it on my D3300 and took several shots indoors which came out well. Will give it some more testing in the next few days when the weather gets better.

I was wondering how it will perform indoors with the 4.5-5.6 aperture range. I hope to use mine, when it arrives, mostly for Landscape Photography, have been watching a variety of utube videos on Landscape Photography getting ideas and pointers that will help me improve.

This is a lens on my wish list. It is an AF:P lens that is formatted for crop sensor DX DSLRs. It's inexpensive, and is presently selling at a reduced holiday price. The lens will give you a FOV of 15-30mm on a crop sensor. It is made mostly of lightweight plastic. It is not built like a tank, and is not weather sealed. But, still a good lens for the price. Less than $300 for the Xmas price. Early production D3300 cameras need a firmware to accommodate AF-P lenses.

What is the latest Firmware # is required for the lens to work properly on my Nikon D3300 DX crop sensor camera?

I have a D3300 that’s about 2 years old. Lens works perfectly with my camera without any firmware updates. Sorry but I’m not aware of firmware #

Tell me. How many lenses with a plastic
lens mount have you witnessed being
worn out?

The mounts don't wear out. They do
break. Seen quite a few. But they all
showed plenty of cosmetic scars that
indicated not-so-careful owners. Just
treat it with reasonable care and pay
no attention to the doom-sayers.

Thanks, Just placed an $227.85 order online for a Nikon Refurbished 10-20mm 4.5-5.6 wide angle lens. From my investigations it sounds like this Lens will be compatible and work properly on my Nikon D3300, hopefully without any Firmware update. Although I suppose it may be a good idea to do anything update that may be suggested by Nikon.

Not worn out but I see lots of damaged mount lenses on eBay

I would think if the Plastic Lens Owner is aware of the Cheaper building quality then they would or should take extra care when using the Lens, No Dropping, No Banging, No Rainstorms, No windy Beach days, etc. Although ACCIDENTS do occur in our lives, so never a Garrentee.
