Shot this image of the morning glory this morning with my old point and shoot camera. I set the camera to aperature priority used spot focus. Even though it was shot in jpeg I was able to edit the pic in camera raw using photoshop CS 3. Please feel free to crituque honestly, even if it is bad. I am trying hard to learn photography, thanks in advance. Jan

I like the pic of the flower but don't see the purpose of the white box. If the area outside this box were different than that within, it might work ie: much more blurred or solid color. But the way it is, it looks like someone goofed during processing.

The white seems blown out. Love the composition.

Thanks for replying. I appreciate your honesty regarding the stroke and I see what you mean as the stoke doesn't separate anything. Thanks again...Jan

I love the composition. Close up of flowers is one of my favorites to photograph. A little too "blue" on my screen anyway, get rid of the white box. Post the original, sometimes they are better then we think :;)

I actually like the colors in the first one, I did not have an issue with the white, but others may disagree. I guess it is whatever you like.

Thanks Linda B. In living color the flower was quite blue. I just didn't want it to look like it had been too processed. You have been very helpful...Jan

I believe that your flower photograph would benifit from including areas of deeper tones. Here is what I mean:http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-62267-1.html.

I did not find that the white was blown out. Testing by darkening that area revealed lots of detail and color.
