The SubSonex MicroJet is capable of speeds of 300 mph, and can perform all the classic aerobatics, including maneuvers like tailslides, normally considered taboo in a jet.

A fabulous set. Definitely enjoyed the shot of the Thunderbirds -- a great acrobatic team. Mahalo for sharing.

Paul, another fantastic set of planes. The MicroJet is a first time view for me.

Nice captures. Is the SubSonix JSX-2 a version of the BD5 or is it a different company. I remember a BD5 in a James Bond movie years ago and got to watch the Coors Silver Bullit in Denver once.
By the way I didn't know Topaz could remove noise from jets...🙃🙃🙃

Thank you and excellent question alberio! The companies are different, but the idea is the same: a home built 'kit' for a 1-man jet airplane. Wiki indicates the Bede Aircraft Corporation went bankrupt in the 70s after selling over 4300 versions of their planes, including the BD-5. If looking to buy & build such a plane today, Sonex Aircraft would be an option.

Thank you JoAnne! The Thunderbirds did a brief fly-by at Oshkosh on their way to another airshow, not a full-fledged show at Oshkosh. In a way they were closer than normal just doing a fly-over of the crowd rather than an aerobatic performance.

Thank you Richard, Jack, Greg, Jimmy, nimbushopper, Tomfl101, Jerry! I noticed in some Oshkosh images the other day not every plane as the 'prop blur' of the images I've shared recently. These jet performers are one of the reasons where I know I upped the shutter for the jets and then forgot to adjust back to slower for the next prop plane in the performance line-up. Glad you enjoyed these.

Thanks Paul,
I would have Googled it, but I figured you would have the answer, and I was right.
