As retired military I had to visit The Punchbowl (National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific). Established in 1949, it is the final resting place for about 34,000 military members, primarily focused on the WWII, Korean War and Vietnam conflicts. In addition to being a national monument, it is a beautiful venue with excellent views of Oahu.
Instead of naming my service, i deliberately refer to myself as "military" because despite our normal rivalries, this is a place that reminds us that all who wore the uniform are brothers and sisters.
Attached are a few shots of this humbling place and its surrounding views.

Mike nice series, on a place that unfortunately had to be built to pay homage to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Thanks for looking, Frank.
Really nice series! I understand not making specific reference to your specific service. I share that feeling and when talking to others they often ask what I did in the military and I normally tell them "everything they asked me to do". Thanks for sharing the photos.
Really well done Mike. Cemeteries tend to be such beautiful and tranquil places where the dead my lie in everlasting peace.
Beautiful set Mike, Thank you for sharing these photos, I wasn't lucky enough to get stationed in Hawaii but its on my bucket list of places to visit and you just gave me a good reason to go, I also want to visit the USS Arizona memorial. Thank you for your Service and Sacrifice to our country and Thank you for Honoring these Men and Women.

Mike, first off thank you for your service which gives us the freedoms we have. Fantastic set of the Memorial that I did not know about. I will never make a trip to Hawaii for many reasons and thank you for the views. DDLs are a must to really appreciate the Memorial. HIGH FIVE for all the reasons anyone can think of.
