I have an Epson 3760. ET stands for Ecco Tank. With this system you buy bulk ink and load it into tanks on the printer. No more expensive cartridges. It is only a four color printer but still prints fine "proof" prints or give away prints. For high quality I use an Epson Photo 1400, but the smaller Epson is usually good enough.

Your best deal is at B&H, the ones with ecotanks. I HAD A EPSON SSI I USE FOR UVER 5 YEARS.

I would consider one of the new "eco tank" models from Epson. The ink lasts way longer and costs way less to replace when compared toa traditional inkjet printer.

My wish list contains "Epson Expression Premium ET-7750 EcoTank All-In-One", but there are "lower" models in the same line that cost less. Since you do not print too many pictures, a smaller model would probably suit your needs more than the higher model.

If Epson makes it, that's what I buy. I've bought Epson since it was an 8pin dot-matrix printer and they just work and work and work. The All-In-One we have now has not been turned off for 7 months and prints every time it's asked.

We've been using a Brother MFC, surprisingly good photo prints and reasonable on the ink cost, Bob.
BTW 3 color and 1 B&W ink tank.

I will not use HP although they make very good printers. They screwed me over about 10 years ago and I swore off them. My latest printer is Brother MFC and I like it better than both a Canon which is hooked to my wife's computer and the Epson it replaced. Brother is not as well known, but beside the one I'm using, we have several at work and all work well.

I have been shopping. I have had an HP all/one for years. Physically starting to fall apart. I want to buy another all/one. I don't photo print, just routine documents and use the scanning a bit. I have looked at the Epson with tanked ink and various other brands. They all cost the same; HP cheap printer, expensive ink; Epson expensive printer, cheap ink.

Since photo printing isn't a priority you have easier choices. Canon Megatank and Epson EcoTank will fill the bill. I purchased a Canon Megatank for my daughter last summer and she loves it. The different printer models range from a print only through a full blown auto feed fax model. Canons tend to cost less than Epsons but not enough to make a difference if you prefer Epson. Brother also makes a nice MFC that doesn't use internal tanks like the other two brands, but there is a model that uses larger cartridges. My recommendation is to read multiple online reviews of models that interest you and do some hands on testing at local stores. Initial purchase prices will be more for these printers, but the savings in ink costs will dwarf the higher printer purchase price.
