I was surprised that the older males are often grey in colour - like the sleeping guy in one of the photos. They come close to the roads so they're not that hard to see - especially in seasons when foliage is sparse. Older males and females often have scars - they're not as pristine looking as their zoo counterparts. Life is hard when you live in the wild.

Great set. Mother nature can be very harsh but then growing older is hard on most. Mahalo for sharing.

Me too. The trip changed my view on zoos. I know they do good work but it's so much better for wild animals to live wild. Thanks for commenting.
