It sounds like he runs with 2 monitors. I have a KVM switch to connect any one of 4 computers to a single monitor, keyboard, mouse - - but haven't seen a KVM switch that will permit linking to 2 monitors. There certainly MAY be one though - - I've not looked recently.

Good point.I will research, but he may need 2 KVMs ...

DO NOT CLICK ON AN EMAIL ABOUT WINDOWS UPDATES!
Just read an article earlier today about this being a ransomware attack. Microsoft NEVER sends emails about updates.

Linux. Been using it for ten years or more. If enough people switch to that platform from m$ the game coders will notice, so will other software companies like adobe. But why pay for those when everything in linux is free. Gimp is a great piece of work. Yes there is a learning curve, but so is there one for ps. Difference? How about no monthly subscriptio for starters.

The laptop I use came with Win 8. What it replaced ran on Vista. In comparison 10 is heaps better. Few problems with 10. Maybe because I turn off my laptop when not in use have few problems with 10 updates.

Bingo! After running Windoze for almost 30 years, and DOS for almost another decade before that, I made the switch last spring. Linux is the proverbial breath of fresh air. It too needs occasional updates, but they run easily in the background, and you can always choose if and when to run them.

I haven't run Photo Shop in probably 10-20 years, so I can't compare it to GIMP, but GIMP is certainly all I need in an editor. It doesn't load RAW files directly, but does utilize Raw Therapee as an add-on, so they load flawlessly. The are several other photo editing programs available, from simple to complex as well.

One nice thing about the distribution I used (Linux Mint Cinnamon) is that it comes with just about all the other programs we'll ever need, in just the one download, including GIMP, Libre Office (very much like Office in Win XP), and web browsers such Chrome ("Chromium") and Firefox.

Becoming a Windoze-Free Zone has led to much less stress and much more productivity in our household.

I have used Windows 10 on my desktop since it became available and always accept the updates. I have had no problems at all and my computer is old enough to have experienced previous Windows 7 and XP. On my laptop, I have had a few minor glitches after updates, but never sure if it is the Surface computer that is acting up, or the update.
