That photo is teasing me, making me want more.

It's all in the anticipation, John . Glad you enjoyed.

Im really looking forward to seeing more. I see this one more as a documentational photo. You have inadvertently but unerringly positioned the tripod precisely on a golden segment line, or as I like to think of it, a line of force, which gives it a special prominence in the composition.

That was just luck, Mark. I was more concerned about my own placement, perched on a steep, rocky hillside. It's an interesting point though, because I'm happy with its position in the frame, and it doesn't seem to conform to any rule or division.

A wonderful shot for sure except for the tripod. IMHO it really needs to go

Don't worry - this is the only shot it appears in . I was more interested in the storytelling aspect of including it, rather than any visual contribution that it makes. It played a significant role in my enjoyment of the day.

Thank you Graham. For once things went the way I wanted. The morning started with a hard frost, which keeps the moisture out of the air. The sky stayed largely cloudless, which meant there was lots of strong sunshine, and because the sun was low in the sky, the light stayed soft.

I have a few more dreichless shots and others with varying degrees of dreichness. (Somebody should update this spellchecker. Imagine not recognising "dreich" as a word ).
Thank you Graham. For once things went the way I ... (show quote)

I use a spellchecker called Grammarly, it recognises dreich

Yay. I've seen spellcheckers that didn't recognise the word "spellchecker" .

I think Rabbie Burns was a consultant to Grammarly

My tripod is jealous. It wants me to take it on a trip to Scotland.

Lol. I suspect my tripod enjoyed it almost as much as I did .

Now that's some blue water! And I like the tripod...adds depth and a conversation point...
