For those reading this, the Half Priced Books Store on Broadway in San Antonio Texas is the seat of all Half Priced Books stores. The CEO is Elen, she owns total control of all the Half Priced Books in the US. They have a great staff and they are linked to The Antiquarian Book Sellers next door. Now gone, the assistant manager Ramin Samandari* could locate ANY book and give quotes. You can reach Ramin Samandari at his business Magical Realism in San Antonio:

I tried bookfinder.com and in the ‘more search option’ put 19th century photographer and got a batch. What book finder does is search thousands of book sellers offerings.

I know this is a very long shot, but I am looking for a book I last read more than 35 years ago. I found it in the library in Idaho Springs, CO. It was about a couple who photographed wildlife and nature in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Of course I can't recall either the name of the book or the authors.

Thank you in advance for your help. I am also contacting the Idaho Springs library.

A wild guess. Stieglitz and Georgia O' Keefe?

I will sleep better now that I know the Word Police are active.
It may not be my post, but I will state my piece. You and others who add no worthwhile comments to a thread, Please stop. You must not be allowed to talk much at home.
You are egotistical enough to think you are the only one smart enough to catch it.

I don't know what computer you are using but there is an app for Apple (and probably PCs too) that searches every book ( so they say) that has ever been published. See if Google can find the app. I had it a long time ago and cannot remember the name.

You might try contacting The Strand bookstore in New York City. They have 18 miles of books and have an excellent reputation.

Try Google "couple who photographed wildlife and nature in the late 1800's and early 1900's". Several refs come up. Maybe those will give you a lead.

And once you find the title, check www.Abebooks.com
I have seen a number of really antique books on their site.

More to the point, it leads to way too much. If your query is too vague, you'll get 20 million hits to look through. In the time it takes you to do that you could drive to the nearest big city and ask a librarian.

There are several Web sites for out of print books. Google to find them. Somewhere, someone will have a copy, but it could be expensive.

This may help:

YNY,
No not the Johnsons, I have their main book, "I Married Adventure" by Osa Johnson, who was one of the photographers who started my interest in photography many years ago. Even been to the museum in Kansas.
