I know this is a very long shot, but I am looking for a book I last read more than 35 years ago. I found it in the library in Idaho Springs, CO. It was about a couple who photographed wildlife and nature in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Of course I can't recall either the name of the book or the authors.

Thank you in advance for your help. I am also contacting the Idaho Springs library.

Try Google "couple who photographed wildlife and nature in the late 1800's and early 1900's". Several refs come up. Maybe those will give you a lead.

If you don't find it here:
Ask a librarian or a Used and rare book dealer (used book store, not a place like Half Priced Books but an antiquarian book store.) They can do book searches to other book dealers.

Try Barnes and noble and Amazon. It's most likely out of print but, they often have used copies. Just be sure to be specific in your search. Hope this helps. Oh, and Google too.

Maybe, but I checked anyway and it seems that William Finley was none as a very early photographer of birds. Have ordered a copy of one of his books. Thank you very much for sending me their name.

This one's a Toughie......you might consider archives from publishers referencing data storage or better yet contact The Denver Post......they are the second largest repository for print mater on the planet with the exception being the National Archives in D.C.....failing that , Old Book Stores on line are about your only hope and that's not much hope.

Wikipedia might have some resources on photographers of the 19th & 20th centuries and that could be a starting point for your search. Good luck to you.

Thanks to all for your help, it is appreciated. BTW Minx, I read all of the Woods Woman books, but do not have any copies. They were very interesting.

Thanks so much for a useful reply.
So tired of the "just google it" replies that help no one. These questions help not only the one who asks but those who help and those who just read. When useful answers are given, it leads to new knowledge and discovery for everyone.
"Just google it" leads to .... nothing much.

Exactly right! Suggesting Google is fine but anyone who does this should ALSO do it himself/herself first and then offer a website or two for the inquirer to search.

If you find the name of the book or author, you can use Bookfinder to locate an out of print copy.
