This may have been covered before, but... is
there any benefit from having a full frame
camera over a crop sensor camera?

No. That question has NEVVUH arisen b4 :-)

I use cameras of all three common formats.
Each has its benefits for certain purposes but
those benefits derive from many operational
features that are UNRELATED to the size of
the sensors.

IOW if two, or more, different cameras can
perform the same task, I've got no reason to
use the bigger format.

Having verrrrrrry many legacy lenses, I use
the proper 24x36mm format to maintain the
original FoV. Other than getting full use from
those old lenses, I encounter no loss using a
17x23mm with APSC lenses. And acoarst for
very small or very distant subjects I'll use a
17x23 camera with a macro or tele lens that
was originally designed for 24x36 cameras.

Would you rather achieve success in photography through hard work or a full-frame camera?

Heard it expressed this way: “The harder I work, the luckier I get.”

I first heard that from Lee Trevino when an analyst called his a lucky shot. He said, "the more I practice, the luckier I get."

Hard work is hugely over rated.

And to make matters even worse, it's
also just plain freakin hard :-(

I'm into Success Thru Fun ! Acoarst,
bigger cameras are less fun, so there
you have it.

Goes along with Louis Pasteur's "Chance favors the prepared mind."
