Some suggestions, please, a wide angle lens for my Nikon D7000 - I’m a casual photographer, it’d be great if it were an all around lens........

On a DX camera like the D7000 you would want to go to a 24mm or wider lens.

I would consider the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-F4 lens. I have the 17-50 F2.8 and really like it but the little longer reach may come in handy.

Use the AF P Nikkor 10-20 4.5 5.6 G on my D 7200. Small, light, relatively inexpensive. I have been quite pleased with it.

The Nikon 12-24mm DX lens is superb! The Tamron 10-24mm VC is also an excellent t choice.
Do NOT get the Nikon 10-24mm AF-P lens as it will not function on your body.

Sorry but the D7000 is not compatible with the AF-P lenses.

Tamron 10-24mm (the current model). This is an excellent lens - Ken the Angry Photographer even thinks so. Covers extreme wide to most wide.

Tokina has some nice, wide zooms for DX. I had a 12-24 (I think), that I really liked.

He asked about a wide-angle and most suggestions are for a super-wide.... My Superwide is an older Sigma 10-20 F 4-5.6. I didn't need the faster one as it is usually stopped down anyway.

The Nikkor 16-85mm DX looks like a good general-purpose wide that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Should do ya fine.

The focus system on the 7000 isn’t the strongest and fastest. My best lens on this camera is the 17-55mm 2.8 DX even without VR and kid lenses.
I have a 35-70mmD 3.3-4.5 what works good on my 810 but on the 7000 it’s bad, difficult to find the focus.
28-80mm 3.3-5.6 G plastic lens focus is on the spot and fast every time.
16-85mm was beautiful on the 3xxx series but on the 7000 wasn’t.
Check ken Rockwell he writes about lenses & more
