Here's the actual text from the U.S. Constitution, Article I, Section 4, Clause vii -

Judgment in cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States: but the party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to indictment, trial, judgment and punishment, according to law.

We disagree, because you're using the wrong terms. Words mean things. Impeachment is not conviction.

Practical usage of language doesn't allow for such misdefinition and misugage of words. The language of the Constitution is largely plain language, and is far from arcane.

The Roman boy-emperor Elagabalus from 218 to 222, was said to enjoy practical jokes and would often place a whoopee cushion under the chairs of his most pompous guests.

The modern version was invented in the 1920's or 1930's, depending on which source you look at, by the JEM Rubber Company of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Whoopi Goldberg had nothing to do with having a Whoopee Cushion named after her!

we are spiting hairs .... ok the House impeaches .... the Senate holds a trial ... if the person is found guilty .... the punishment is IMPEACHMENT ... removal from office ... it is not difficult to understand ...... this is like the argument ... what came first ... the chicken or the egg .... although it may be technically incorrect use of the word .... most of the public uses the word impeachment and removal from office interchangeably...... but we all know what is meant ...

You are wrong. The House DOES impeach. That is it and as clear as any of us can put it. AFTER the house impeaches a President the Senate has a trial and decides whether or not the President is removed from office. But no matter the Senate decision the President is still impeached. But he will still be in office as POTUS and may be reelected again for the second term.

Taylor will testify in public hearings next week.

"House investigators released a transcript Wednesday of the closed-door testimony of William B. Taylor Jr., the acting ambassador to Ukraine, who told lawmakers that it was his “clear understanding” that U.S. military aid would not be sent until that country pursued investigations that could politically benefit President Trump."
