So much easier to replace the sky if you shoot on green screen.....kidding.

Haha. I’m sure the airport will have no problem with that

I attempted a sky replacement using LR Classic and PS CC 2019. Haven't tried this many times. I realize the plane is out of focus due to my focusing on the skyline. Any constructive advice is appreciated!

Thanks
Marty

I also think the plane is blurred by motion rather than focus.

If you have a problem with getting the marching ants in the right place, one thing I do is get as close as I can, then use "select and mask", exporting to a new layer with a mask. That process allows you to move the selection area out or in. Sometimes if the background is busy the selection tool will pick up extraneous things. I can then paint on the mask with a small brush (white or black) to add or subtract things from the masked image. With a hard brush you can define edges well. With a feathered brush you can produce a feathered edge on your mask. You can also use the polygonal lasso tool to define a new edge, then fill the resulting area with white or black. It is also possible to define special brushes but I have not tried that much.
