I attempted a sky replacement using LR Classic and PS CC 2019. Haven't tried this many times. I realize the plane is out of focus due to my focusing on the skyline. Any constructive advice is appreciated!

Thanks
Marty

The plane looks quite far away and at f/9 I would expect it to fall inside the DOF. I suspect the softness is due to the plane's movement. The stuff on the ground (which is much closer) looks sharper than the plane. Perhaps 1/160 wasn't quite fast enough to freeze the moving plane.

That said, the plane in the air isn't the main focus of attention and it gets only a passing glance so its softness isn't much of an issue. The sky swap, which is what the shot is all about, looks completely successful.

Thanks. I had quite a time with the marching ants around the distant buildings.

This is an excellent job at masking. I can't find any fault with what you did or how you did it. Even after enlarging your picture it was hard to find any missed areas. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Something I noticed right off in the photo you posted with the different sky without having to look at the download is the two light blue spots on the right side about half way down from the top . A very easy fix . Other wise it looks good .Tommy

Thanks Tommy. I'll take a look. I think my sensor needs cleaning!

I concur on the plane movement.
