Would a lighthouse fit into this category?
Not fond of Wiki, but not too bad, I think.
Landscape photography shows spaces within the world, sometimes vast and unending, but other times microscopic. Landscape photographs typically capture the presence of nature but can also focus on man-made features or disturbances of landscapes.
Are you asking because of a contest you plan to enter? If there is no amplifying information, I would guess that the lighthouse's size within the frame determines. Is it land/shoreline that includes a lighthouse, or a lighthouse close-up?
If a light house happens to be in a beautiful landscape...why not? I don't think there's any strict definition of a landscape.

No.
Thaz architecture ... unless it's a
landscape including a light house.
Kinda moot point given that the
world is already awash in light
house pix anywho.

It would in my book and shots with lighthouses are some of my favorites. There was a extensive thread on the subject when the Landscape section was starting up and the organizers came up with a pretty open description here

If the lighthouse is obviously the main subject then the pic is not a landscape. A landscape is about space, but can include what ever is within that space. It would be ridiculous to allow a termites nest to be included but not a farmer's house. IMHO!
A lighthouse, per se, would not fit landscape as much as architecture. Now, if a good bit area around the lighthouse showing the location with respect to the surrounding area would be more likely a landscape photo.

Thanks for your comment, Linda. No contest entry and I'm referring to a lighthouse that shows no land. I'm just curious.
Thank you for all the informative comments. After reading these posts, I agree that a lighthouse with no land or shoreline visible is not in the landscape category.
