Really...REALLY? 4 friends who traded in their D850s for a D500??????Let's see some of your/their work. We started this topic about the crop capability of the D850. Let's see some of the crops from the crap you're laying out here!!!

Wetreed has posted many photos here in the Photo Gallery. One only has to click on his handle and take a look. I'll let you be the judge.

I have found this conversation interesting. Your point is well taken about the amazing ability of the 850 and that extreme crop in your original post. If I were to buy another Nikon camera, it would definitely be the D850.

This post was NOT about comparing the D500 to the D850, but somehow it went there anyway. I guess it’s another common debate like raw vs jpg or Nikon vs Canon.

I am a Sony shooter now, so it would be interesting to see how the Sony a7RIV & same lens would fair under the same circumstances.

He has posted some pretty good photos but no wildlife shots and no significant crops that I could tell. I don't think he's qualified to comment on Reconvics post.

Yep Chief I looked at his posts and agree. I think he was just rattling our cage ! I think that he doesn't own a D500!

Well, I don't do big crops, but here's one of my favorites. The Kell Library in Dublin, Ireland.

If it makes the image better, why not crop?
But why go for crop? Why not use a zoom lens and be closer instead of losing 95% of the image?

Yes, that’s why I like it. I’m a HUGE Harry Potter fan! I submitted another view of this room as a stock photo and it’s sold about 100 times. I’m not getting rich though!
