Being full is only possible if there is emptiness (not full). Neither is possible within the existence of the other. Therefore when you evoke "full" in a situation (a conversation for example), you also evoke emptiness.
An arrogant person that thinks they know everything that nobody wants to be around them.
It must have lost the meaning in the translation from Chinese.

"Yet by calling full, you created emptiness."
Those sayings are usually mostly cookie cutter (yes, a little play on words) and repeat often. You can then imagine my surprise when I received the one pictured below. I have saved it as the most unique and interesting one I've ever received.
Fullness Is Emptiness, Emptiness Is Fullness The Profound Message of Buddha and Tao Dev Raheja, Laurel, MD A quotation from the Heart Sutra, the most widely used teaching on how to live day-to-day Zen life: Form is emptiness, emptiness is form. Form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form.

In my view, "by calling full" is akin to saying I've achieved all my goals, and I've arrived at my destination... "you created emptiness" is the irony whereas in saying those things you've left yourself full of emptiness of purpose. In other words, it's the journey, not the destination that matters. Lastly, I received this same fortune cookie once and still have it to this day. I found it to be beautiful in spirit and a good thing to remember...

DW & I went to the Golden Dragon. We ate and ate. Then I said, "I'm full!" DW agreed. So we got up and left, creating emptiness at our table.
