Last night my wife and I went to a buffet and they gave us fortune cookies with the bill. Upon opening hers, my wife asked me what it meant. I have to admit I was just as confused. Can anyone please enlighten us as to the meaning of this?

"Yet by calling full, you created emptiness."

If your not striving you don't create anything new.

I like this interpretation. That makes sense. I was never really very good with the parables either.

Thanks Dennis. I now think I understand what the cryptic fortune means.

My two cents: Whenever you feel "full" at a restaurant, you leave
an empty plate on the table. Applicable to the scenario.

My favorite cookie fortune is:

"You are a total loser who seeks advice from bakery products"
