Actors.

Actors (figures) may not always be people). They can be 'bots or animals.
They always come into the scene naked.
Then you can add makeup (if needed), hair and clothing.
They then can be posed, both expressions and body.
If you save the rendered files as .png format the background will be trasparent (if you are not rendering with a background in the scene) and you do not need to extract them.

Here is a complete set. All I have done is move the camera (and adjust the lighting) around for the different images.

The only limit is your imagination. Notice I have posed the model (steps extended and canopy open) and the skydome (interior of a very big sphere) has changed.
