Where dips the rocky highland
Of Sleuth Wood in the lake,
There lies a leafy island
Where flapping herons wake
The drowsy water rats;
There we’ve hid our faery vats,
Full of berries
And of reddest stolen cherries.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand.
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.

Wow...just wow! All of that and Yeats. Fantastic job. I don't even mind that the beaver (?) looks like he is not quite in the water. It is magical.

Thanks for the comments. Now that somebody told me how to save layers I will submerge the Muskrat a little more.

Fantastic work, especially with the magical light quality. A few things that struck me: water critter not in perspective, nor the large mushroom. As a matter of taste, and still keeping the hazy appearance of the girl, I darkened some areas to give her some solidity, while leaving lights to show haziness.

Tremendous effort, quite enjoyable.

Thanks Bob. The rat is required by the poem, but maybe I should put a different one on the log?

Yes your muskrat looks more grounded in the water. Excellent. I also like what Bob did to the girl on the right assuming you want her more "there" like the one on the log. To me that is a personal preference depending on the story you have in mind. If you are looking for her to be ethereal then she didn't need
Bob's changes.

Your use of the poem inspired me. My favorite poem is El Dorado by Poe. I am workin' on it now.

Think I'll keep mine but Bob always has worthwhile ideas. I just re-read the Poem. Had not even thought of it since English Literature in college. Can't wait to see your project.

If you want more contol over the objects in your image consider using 3D models from Digital Artist Zone.
They may be posed (including expressions), clothed, positioned (including rotation) and different textures added.
The output from the program (which is free along with some content) can be .png files which have transparent backgrounds.

There is a learning curve and and if you are not careful you can spend a fair amount of money.

I am not affiliated with them, except for using their products for quite a while.

Thanks Richard. As I get older and it is more difficult to get out and get my own photos I rely more and more on internet images and posts (after asking permission) on UHH. Rather than becoming a better photographer I am working on becoming a better post processer. Any tips that help me in that direction are much appreciated.

For the images I create I like to use DAZ 3D models for the additional components.
I don't like extracting things from photographs.

With your permission I can post a couple of examples, along with some words.

Thanks.
If I want to composite an image I will use 3D models from Digital Artist Zone.
Think of having a movie studio in your computer (DAZ studio). You will have actors (people/animals/birds etc), props, sets, lights and cameras.
The output may be a .png file (with a transparent background) or a complete image.

Here is complete scene using props, camera (with DOF activated) and lights. (it is from a wild west package).
More to come.
