She was actually leaning on the mantle piece in a country house Bob - I did two versions of it, with and without the raised arm. Popular opinion (from the wife) was to leave it raised. I had intended going in the direction of a Burne-Jones pre-Raphaelite sort of image (her having the red hair an’ all) but, as usual, ended up somewhere else. Maybe another time.
Many thanks for your comments.

You got that Pre-Raphaelite quite well.

That is one beautiful image - looks like one of the painted masters.

I find this photo quite striking... it really grabbed me.

For my own processing skills... I sometimes take posted photos and, just for myself, will re-process it... just to hone my skills. I do it for myself... not to second guess anyone.

I came up with a version... rather different... which I will post only with your permission.
I was finished and then I noticed the dog. She seems to be mourning her lost companion. (I then made one slight alteration.

I enjoy the way you work with fog. Also liked the muted colors and flow of her dress and the dog turned towards her...........many different story lines available in the image. Bev

Overall I think it is a wonderful image. I was going to question you about the women’s pose but you explained that to Bob.

I mentioned to Keni that I’ve found an overlay easier and more realistic than the fog brush Bev. This one came from a search online for ‘free fog overlay’. I’ve also, on other images, used my own cloud photos for mist and fog. Play with the blend mode to get the best result for whatever you’re creating. Dave.

Yes, sort of working with what I got Frank. In fact, she is much altered. The original didn’t include her from the knee down - and her head needed tilting, her neck needed stretching, and her mouth needed closing. Then she needed stretching from the waist down as pre-Raph’s always have elongated bodies. Of course, if I’d known what I wanted in the first place life would have been much easier, I only had to ask! She’s a full-time model, very used to providing the correct pose. Then a simple stretch would have done the trick. I think I’ve mentioned that I also have a version without the raised arm. Thanks for taking a look Frank.

I no longer have the actual file to post. The best I can do is to post a screen shot showing what I tried with Moors Lady to go with my previous explanation. For what it's worth... just ask idea.

I am very fond of b&w images, having grown up with them and been through the film thing en route to digital. This is very nice Barry, I’ll have to have a go at it myself. Thanks for showing where you went with it.

Hi, Dave

I wondered if you were OK as you were missing, but it seems that you were busy creating ladies. Be careful now, but I do like the photo and it reminds me of antique paintings.
