Good morning! What lens are you using? Anything over 200 should get you a good picture. With clouds it is hard to get a good one. It is so bright it lights up everything around it. A pretty shot tho.;)

Starting this early so everyone trying can find it. Lets see all the Hogs try at least one shot! Good or bad, lets make this a fun thread!:) If it's cloudy, take one anyways. They can be beautiful too!

The moon was so much prettier with the clouds around it, but this was the best I could do. I think I need a stronger lens, but this is it!

Here's my attempt, couldn't seem to get the camera to meter on the moon properly, all my shots were blown out like this one. Used spot metering with my 75 - 300mm auto focus full auto setting

Here are my first attempts. Not great but better than I did earlier in August. These were taken about 11:15 last night. It was pretty clear. Had to wait until then because of the woods surrounding us. There's only a short time when I have a clear shot.

Not to bad Kathie! Are you using spot focusing? Might want to try an use manual if you are on a tripod. You just missed it by a little.

Tell me what your settings were. It is the same as taking day time shots. I always lock the ISO at 200. And the shutter at 250=350 aperture F9-16

Thanks. I was using manual and a tripod. Just couldn't get it quite right. Now it's raining so I'm not sure I'll be able to try again tonight.

I can make a list of the best ones. There were a lot of them. I am not going to number them tho. I am not a judge:) Everyone did a good job for the level they are at! Might take me a day, with all the shots I have to look at. And I thought work was hard!:)
