I had been meaning to go out to this little park and shoot the lilies but I kept putting it off. Glad I finally went because they were all just about gone. I shot this just before sunset. The water was perfectly still and the last golden light was still visible. I can't quite put my finger on why I like this so much. It has a quality I can't describe. I would like to hear your thoughts on it.

I like the colours (green & gold) and that the leaf is elevated above the water.

It has all the elements of a classic composition, and you nailed the exposure. And your had golden light and still water. What’s not to like?

I love the reflection in the shadow under the Lilly.

So is that going to be a print on your wall?  🤔

The angle is very low, did you get into the water to capture this shot?

It is beautiful. The yellow flower really stands out against the lovely, subtle complementary color of the water. The leaves are a very pleasant shape. Psychologically, we like water, and the "rising" yellow flower represents hope for many. You put us up close, a unique surprise view.

Well worth your efforts.

Good eye, and nice composition. You will have this image long after those water lilies are gone.

It's quite lovely. Every element points toward the "hero," the bud that stands so proudly. really nice.

I really enjoyed this image Keni. Most of the water lilies I've seen are floating with just the green leave. I love the little yellow bud and like that the lilies are raised out of the water somewhat. Thanks for the interesting view. Bev

Beautiful capture, but what does an old man from San Antonio know?

Thank you Trix. It takes me awhile to get back up but I can still get down on the ground.

Thank you so much! I don't print many but I think this will be one. I will also enter it in my camera club competition. I think it will do well there.

Thankfully this one was on the shore edge and the water level was down but I would have waded in if I had to.
