Well? How is the coffee?

A well done study, open to several interpretations. It is even universally timeless.

Thanks Stephan for saying and thanks for looking, RBorud

My wife (she has a PhyD in Neuro Psychology) and myself, (PHD in B.S.!) BOTH love this image. It is ART. It:
-Evokes an emotion.
-Great composition. (Takes your eye into the image, and leads it around.) The left arm helps to stablize everthing from becoming chaotic...
-Great Lines.
-Subtle coloring.
-Great use of highlights. (Stool tops...)
-Tells a story. (Check out the wallet hanging out of his rear pants pocket, and the "highlighted" watch...)
Awsome, (or as the kids say...) Da' BOMB!!!

Thank you so much buddah for your kind words and thoughts, also thank your wife. As to technique. Very simple. I put the original in PSP 2018 , duplicated it, then used Lucis and put Wyeth on the top, and Klimt on the bottom then erased to blend them as you see. I must add that Lucis is out of business and I do not think anyone one bought them, so a wonderful app has been lost. RBorud

Reminds me of Norman Rockwell's artistic renditions.

Thank SoHillGuy for looking and commenting. I probably do not think Rockwell was as messy as me. RBorud

Nice work of art, like a watercolor. Very pretty and tells a good story.
As a photo it's not good.

Thank you CPR for looking and commenting. I also must say it is my impression of a watercolor and to someone above I sent the original, see what you think. RBorud

Okay, I think I got it. You see strong human conditions in the photo. It had been said, "Art exists in the space between the viewer and the object." We all bring some of our experiences to looking, and my first take was that a very fat man was taking up two stools and made a joke, especially since I saw him as extracted and put into a surreal scene. I imagine there are many ways viewers built a story around this photo. Thanks for letting me in on yours.

As an aside: it is my horror as a juror to miss something, perhaps something great, and not put a good photo into an exhibit.

Thank you Bob for your thoughts. Pray tell what in the world is this exhibit thing? RBorud

The SOOC vs Post Processing "debate" will rage here forever.

Not sure of your question, since you seemed to understand "Award winner" in a post just previous to mine. Prithee, can you elaborate? Is there a question behind your question?

I much prefer this rendition over your other submission. I find it much more interesting and so much an individual can read into it. To my eyes the PP work on this one is so much stronger.

Sorry artBob please ignore my question, I merely misread your previous comment and got your meaning wrong, dumb me. RBorud
