The most answers will be 'No.' but I know of at least one person who would say 'Yes.' because I used this option to prevent him to erase his own images... 88 years old man who just purchases a new card when his is full... He never prints anything and never shows his images. He has digital cameras since 2005 so no one has any idea what he has on them, mostly family stuff I would think.

Those memory cards will eventually start to lose their charge and the contents can become corrupted. Manufacturers state that this is likely to be around 10 years. But then again, it may take longer. But at 88, I suspect it won't matter to him.
