Have thought about the pistol grip - have one from my 50-300 in olden days. Haven't worked out a good release method for the newer cameras. You encourage me to pursue a solution more actively!

Upon seeing the hand-held shot of the moon, I said - out loud - WOW! I have never said WOW out loud at a picture before. Bravo!

The pistol or hand grip makes a big difference with my steady shots. $12-$24 at Amazon.com.
