I'm a bit confused. The Nikon sites (USA and global) don't have any reference to a V2 or J2. Can you give ne a URL so I can see them? Thank you.

Availability about September 6th in the USA, (V2 in another month or two but before Christmas):

So maybe those of us waiting on the D7100 or D5200 can expect that the major "improvement" will be to offer them in wild colors?

I don't get how they sell those things without viewfinders.

The V2 will, I'm sure, have an electronic or optical viewfinder, just like the V1.

Nikon has just dropped the price on the D7000 by over $200! This big of a price drop almost always comes just a week or two before an upgrade model is announced. This would probably indicate that the rumors flying around predicting the introduction of the D7100 and probably the D600 just prior to, or at Photokina in September are very true.

The Nikon V1 and J1 cameras were also reduced, but the V2 and J2 have already been announced.

Also, the D5100 can be had at Adorama for only $646.95 WITH the 18-55mm kit lens ($546.95 for body only). Do I hear D5200????

Looks like Nikon is setting the stage for a BIG September!

Hi MT, September is my birthday month(24th). I've been holding out for the D7100. Shoot me an email if you hear before me,...Thanks.

Mine too (4th), could there be a D600 lurking out there just waiting for me? :) I may have to wait for your birthday though according to the MT. Late Sept.

If I hadn't bought my D7000 from a certain Montanan, I might be looking at another model for my birthday, 9/2!! We all know Virgo is the best sign. ;-/)

Happy 24th... Sorry, but you look a bit older than that.

I think he meant the 24th of September; not his age!

Thanks MT for busting my bubble...LOL...sure I buy the 7000 last week....dang...

Well I am sure the 7100 will be more pricey than what I even paid for my 7000...so I am happy....

jerryC41... Wish I had known that you had a 18-105 lens to sell. I wanted to get that lens when I bought my D5100... but couldn't swing paying the extra at that time... I'll just have to keep watching... do you know if the fact that Nikon is coming out with a new batch of cameras mean that some lens may be reduced in price also?

We should have a section on here called "I Want ..." If someone wants something, and I have and don't need it, there's a way to make two people happy.

The lens went for $222.50 on ebay.

Oh, makes me sick!!!.... Oh well, since I didn't find any of the lens I wanted, I bought a 3T external hard drive to store the photos that are filling up the space on my computer. I have been shooting in RAW and it takes up too much space even with the two hard drives I have on my computer. I'll just have to sell more calligraphy to support my new "photography habit."
I need/want some kind of a macro lens, but will have to wait until I get some more funds. This being "old" and living on a fixed income gets in the way of my creative habits!! :D

Great idea. Add a looking for section would really enhance the forum.

Absolutely! But I can't convince my wife of the Virgo superiority. (15) But now I know what I want for my birthday, I was waiting for the magic number (under $1000).

If you are still looking, I have a 18-105mm that came with a D7000 I bought in June that had only 168 exposures on it. I never used the lens as I don't use DX lenses at all. When I sold the camera in July the buyer didn't want the lens so I still have it, and its just like brand new. PM me if you are interested in buying it.
