Nikon has just dropped the price on the D7000 by over $200! This big of a price drop almost always comes just a week or two before an upgrade model is announced. This would probably indicate that the rumors flying around predicting the introduction of the D7100 and probably the D600 just prior to, or at Photokina in September are very true.
http://nikonrumors.com/2012/08/27/nikon-d7000-v1-price-drops.aspx/

The Nikon V1 and J1 cameras were also reduced, but the V2 and J2 have already been announced.

Also, the D5100 can be had at Adorama for only $646.95 WITH the 18-55mm kit lens ($546.95 for body only). Do I hear D5200????

Looks like Nikon is setting the stage for a BIG September!

if a D7100 is coming out, it has to be a very well kept secret. Nikon Rumors hasn't had anything on it that I have seen.

All the rumors have been centered around the D600 and what it is replacing. It appears the D600 may be replacing the D300s AND the D700. The D7100 could become the top line Nikon DX body, as it pretty much already has been.
Except for the D3200, Nikons Thailand DX factory has been VERY quiet since restarting after the floods. Something has got to be in the works from there!

Yes, I got mine just before Halloween 2010, one of the very first delivered. Timing is close, it was announced in August 2010.

I'm happy with my D7000s, and I'm not good with waiting lists! A couple of weeks ago I got a D7000 with 18-105mm lens for $1096, and I sold the lens on eBay. Can't complain about that. :D

No idea, rumors just died on that one about 3 months ago. It might go the way of the D700X which ended up being replaced by the D800. The DXXX line may be forsaking DX for Full frame, as in D600. That leaves a lot of room for future introductions of even less expensive full frames, like a D500, or maybe even a D400 being a full frame version of a D3200. I am really interested in seeing who makes the D600's sensor. The D3X, D4 and D800 sensors are all made by Nikon. The DX sensors as well as the D700, D3 and D3S sensors are made by Sony.

That makes you a day older than me (10th)!
So I suppose I should order the D800E and ask my boss for forgiveness instead of permission, yes? He's in Florida for 2 weeks anyway. Happy Birthday to all of us!

I'm a bit confused. The Nikon sites (USA and global) don't have any reference to a V2 or J2. Can you give ne a URL so I can see them? Thank you.
